During his time working as the Museum Curator at the Red Cedar Inn Museum and Visitor Center, Ryan visualized, planned, developed, and maintained many different exhibits in the one-room gallery.
Ryan was able to create the concepts for major permanent and rotating exhibits, design the floorplan and layouts, and choose artifacts to display. Said artifacts include furniture, signage, memorabilia, building material, archival records, and photographs. For each exhibit he also drafted labels and acrylic paneling to display vital, educational information.
Each exhibit also has a digital interactive component that can be noticed in the photographs below. For more information on those, visit the "Media Projects" tab.

Model Building
Ryan has firsthand experience building historical dioramas for museums. In his career he has built one complete model, and assisted in building another. One model featuring a railroad town-the one he assisted with-and the other a historical reconstruction of the City of Pacific in 1864 during the Civil War which he developed entirely by himself. His models are based on historically accurate data in order to showcase a realistic-or as close as one can get-depiction of a certain area or event. Ryan utilizes his critical thinking and research skills to develop an idea for a model, and then executes it using a relatively low budget. His models have included figurines, geographic renderings, moving trains, electronic lighting, fog, acrylic paint, miniatures, and more. Below are a few photos of his work.
